Snaefellsnes Peninsula Landscape
This is a view to Snaesfellsjokull volcano from the southern coast of the peninsula. A multitude of lava flows have built this stratovolcano through an estimated 700,000 years. It last erupted in 200 A.D., give or take 150 years. Jules Verne fans will recognize Snaefellsjokull as the location of the entrance to a passage leading to the center of the Earth in "Journey to the Center of the Earth."
