Grand View is upstream of the New River Gorge Bridge. The Main Overlook is located at the highest point in the park, 1400' above New River. The railway that opened this area to coal mining and lumber harvesting can be seen on the far side, above the river bank. Note the location of the Turkey Spur Overlook. That was my hike destination, along the gorge rim from the Main Overlook at Grand View.
